Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is an unassuming town located on the West Island, which is part of Montreal's island. People unfamiliar with the term often think that there is a separate island to the west of Montreal however, this part of West Island is home to all things from the City of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island. But this is not true. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa the city of Ontario. Her initial ambition was to pursue a career as an actress however, after a rapid expansion, she and her partner were no longer able to dance with her. In an article published by Toronto Star, she revealed that in heels she was 6 feet 1 inch tall. Once I was bigger than my male counterpart, I stopped. A lot of former dancers go on to acting and in Brugel's situation, it was a nudge from the drama instructor at her high school that led her in the right direction. It was her teacher who suggested she audition to play the character of Anne in their annual school production. Following a trial her options, she was eventually the main character of Anne of Green Gables. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Since then, Brugel has been involved in more than 60 shows, smaller and large. The most notable was when she landed Rita's role in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian of the Season 1 actors of the series as well as appearing only on occasion, was the sole Canadian.
